Math 2 advanced: 7th grade What is pre-algebra? 1st Grading Period review

In Volusia county we structure courses by Florida's Next Generation Sunshine State Standards and associated benchmarks.

We divide the courses by Essential Questions. The Essential Questions are then divided by Measurement Topics which are then outlined with learning targets.

Here are Essential Questions for the math 2 adv course:

Can the student use rational numbers to apply all mathematical operations in a real world setting?

Can the student apply geometric formulas to solve real life situations involving 2 and 3 dimensional figures?
Can the student analyze and represent a linear function in various forms?
Can the student apply the properties of exponents to simplify polynomial expressions? Can the student distinguish between linear and nonlinear functions?
Can the student use real numbers to apply all mathematical operations in a real world setting? Can the student use the Pythagorean theorem to find distances in real world situations?
Can the student make conjectures about angles and lines to determine the validity of those conjectures? Can the student calculate the sum of angles of any given polygon?
Can the student explain how data values impact measures of central tendency? Can the student using indirect measurement solve real-world problems?
